Cloud DevOps Engineer – AWS (UK, Reading)
As a Cloud DevOps Engineer in Thales Digital Identity Security, you will be part of the technical governance team supporting the Identity & Biometrics Solution Business Line. The role focuses on accelerating cloud transformation, containerization, and automation across private and public AWS environments.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design, implementation, and setup of cloud technologies with engineering teams.
* Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud solution validation and deployment.
* Create installation guides, documentation, and training materials to enable team autonomy.
* Train engineering teams on cloud technologies and CI/CD tools.
* Provide guidance during architecture definition, security audits, and pre‑sales activities.
* Liaise with other cloud engineers across product lines and corporate groups (CCoE/CTO).
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
* Experience in software development (server‑side) and deploying highly available solutions on AWS.
* Proficiency with IaC using Terraform and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Knowledge of monitoring, authentication, and repository systems.
* Experience with networking protocols (SOAP/REST, HTTPS, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, WAF).
* Strong scripting and CI/CD automation skills.
* Good knowledge of Windows/Linux OS and proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, Go).
* AWS SAA or AWS SAP certification is a plus.

Security Clearance
This position requires Security Clearance (SC). Current SC holders are preferred, but applicants without SC will be required to obtain, achieve, and maintain SC clearance as part of the hiring process.
