Overview
The post holder will rotate through CT, General X‑ray and Interventional departments on a daily basis, depending on roster. Flexible working attitude required, willing to participate in out of hours and weekend rotas.
Key Objectives
* Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, ensuring best quality service in a pleasant environment.
* Deliver a safe, high quality, efficient service to all patients and consultants.
* Participate in out of hours, night and weekend shifts as per roster.
* Lead the CT/X‑ray/Interventional department when required and liaise with Leads.
* Train junior members and new starters.
* Undertake clinical audit and equipment QA when required.
Responsibilities
* Perform appraisals for junior staff, setting objectives and development plans.
* Take day‑to‑day responsibility for smooth running of clinical area, escalating issues.
* Maintain professional and technical standards in radiography.
* Establish effective communication within imaging team.
* Challenge poor working practices, promoting continuous improvement.
* Participate in recruitment and selection of staff under supervision.
* Deliver training and development for junior staff, developing their potential.
* Visible department leader, motivating staff and providing guidance.
* Document and report equipment faults, notify Professional Lead.
* Coordinate routine maintenance of equipment and breakdown management.
* Observe Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 and relevant policies.
Qualifications
BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent, registered with the Health Care Professions Council. Proven postgraduate experience within a versatile team, using initiative and working independently. Desire to teach others, good organisational skills, priority tasks, effective liaison with departments.
