Pastry Sous Chef
We are currently recruiting for an experienced, talented Pastry Sous Chef to join the kitchen brigade at this fantastic, independently owned Gastro pub with a real focus on seasonal produce based in Islington. This is an award wining operator, with every pub being unique, we are looking for an ambitious Pastry Chef to work under the Group pastry chef with experience of cooking to a 2 Rosette standard.

Our client is a beautiful historic pub in Islington with a fantastic all day dining menu, private dining room and a large garden. They are passionate about food and their menu is focused on seasonality and tradition. They also boast a wide selection of British & European lagers, beers, real ales and ciders, and their wine list was developed by a leading wine expert to perfectly complement their food offering.
The Person
The ideal Pastry Sous will have the following:
- Solid experience in a fresh food kitchen
- 2 years experience in a similar kitchen with 2 Rosette standard
- Excellent pastry knowledge with a creative flair
- Can do attitude & team player
- Eager to learn new techniques
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Confidence to run a section
- Fully flexible on day/evening/weekend shifts
- A true passion for food and have the enthusiasm and willingness to learn
