Assistant Psychologist (Young People's Services)
Clinical responsibilities include: Administering standardised tests/assessments to understand young people attending EPIC Learning, writing clear reports and intervention plans, and providing feedback to relevant professionals. Collaborating with EPIC Learning staff and external education providers to adapt delivery and learning content to meet young people's needs. Providing psychological input to colleagues and delivering interventions on a group or individual basis, including organizing sessions and resources. Maintaining up-to-date notes on each participant and, when required, writing post-intervention and course summary reports. Attending meetings to discuss individual progress and explaining interventions to young people, staff, and external agencies. Analyzing relevant data, taking remedial actions when needed, and completing administrative tasks such as producing statistics and performance reports. Assisting with assessments, formulation development, and planning and delivering interventions outside of EPIC Learning when required. Supporting the psychology service with specialist assessments and interventions as needed. Attending mandatory training and participating in the annual appraisal process. Engaging in regular clinical supervision and developing skills to enhance current duties. Demonstrating effective verbal and written communication skills to influence other professionals within an integrated working context. Sharing information appropriately to support children and young people's development, adhering to information sharing protocols. Ensuring practice reflects current national and local professional guidelines. Working in partnership with other agencies to safeguard young people, contributing to multi-agency meetings. Adopting a flexible, creative approach to working with young people and families, tailoring approaches to individual needs. Promoting equality, diversity, non-discriminatory practice, and inclusion to achieve effective outcomes. Collaborating with others to offer appropriate interventions, evaluating information received, and acting on concerns regarding safeguarding. Managing risks appropriately and taking responsibility for professional development through reflection and seeking guidance as needed.
