Senior Marketing Manager, Drunk Elephant





MISSION



As Marketing Manager you will be responsible for helping define and drive the marketing and media strategy for the Drunk Elephant brand in the UK and Ireland, making sure all the parties are aligned and working towards the same goals; to achieve its annual sales and profit targets.

Our first strength is Make-up, led by NARS, UK’s Nr4 color brand with incredible success globally and that gained 4 rankings in the last 2 years thanks to its unique tone of voice and exceptional complexion and lip products.



Skincare is a key priority for expansion, with 5 very diverse and complementary brands covering the full scope of consumers needs and profiles. From brand Shiseido that is recognized for its uncompromising quality and showing huge growth potential in UK&I, to already iconic Drunk Elephant (+75% growth this year, about to enter Top10 Skincare) with its most sought-after formulations and Skin Smoothies, or the spectacular Clé de Peau Beauté that embodies the ultimate of stem-cell technology to the service of radiance. This year, we just launched ULÉ a newly created Skin-Tech brand with breakthrough credentials around Sustainability and botanical performance, as well as expanding Gallinée, our most recent acquisition from 2022 specialized around skin microbiome with unique patents.



We are also growing fast in Fragrance, a category we want to accelerate with leading Designers brands such as Issey Miyake, Narciso Rodriguez, Tory Burch, Zadig&Voltaire and Serge Lutens.

Our clients include high-street retailers such as department stores, beauty chains as well as online pure players and specialty stores. We also have 4 boutiques and 3 direct e-commerce websites. Our mix of sales is 55% online and 45% in brick & mortar.

ORGANISATION



Reports to: UKI Skincare Marketing Director

Manages: Brand Manager, who manages a Marketing Coordinator

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES



BRAND MANAGEMENT

* Be the local Brand Ambassador for Drunk Elephant in the UK and Ireland and become the key local contact liaising with Regional and Global HQ in the US to ensure that Global Brand vision/strategy and launches are clearly communicated and implemented and in line with UK Business strategy.
* Collaborate with and influence RHQ Marketing teams proactively to pre-empt UK marketing requirements.
* Contribute to all aspects of the creative process, including: strategy, campaign and POSM development and customer insight
* Ensure consistency of brand standards across all marketing platforms
* Ensure that all launches and activities are managed within the budget and targeted to achieve measurable ROI



UK NATIONAL MARKETING PLANS

* Work with UKI Skincare Marketing Director to translate Global and EMEA strategy into an actionable marketing plan for the UK
* Identify local market needs and develop local activations in liaison with NAMs to maximise every commercial opportunity and support brand growth
* Develop a launch strategy plan by retailer in liaison with the Commercial team to maximise every business opportunity
* Understand trade customers’ requirements to maximise when possible brand inclusion in their activities, and work with NAMs to ensure that exclusives and promotional offers are in place to drive sales at key trading periods.



MEDIA

* Work with UKI Skincare Marketing Director to manage the media budget and execute the media plan with the Media agency



FORECASTING & STOCK MANAGEMENT

* Provide detailed insight and forecasting benchmarks to aid thorough newness forecasting via knowledge of retail performance, product performance, NPD data, competitor ranking and UK consumer insights.
* Manage POSM forecast to be done within the allocated agreed budget
* Oversee in partnership with Trade Marketing sampling forecast and planning
* In liaison with the UKI Commercial team and European Logistics team, make sure all the basic catalogue forecasts (both saleable and tester) are updated based on business needs, anticipated marketing initiatives, new openings and retailer-specific activations
* In liaison with UKI PR team, make sure the pre-series needs are accounted for, and oversee the forecast for all elements of merchandising managed by the Visual Merchandising team



MERCHANDISING

* Work with Visual Merchandising team in the development and implementation of local initiatives such as new counter design, counter updates for launches or any retailers’ animation sites, window displays, counter decoration, display units, etc.



PRICING & COMPETITION

* Monitor pricing strategies across the industry and lead the yearly pricing review for the UK & Ireland inducing pricing recommendation for newness
* Coordinate a competitor tracking system that covers marketing, events, online strategy and PR to ensure we keep track of competitor activities and launch plans



ANALYSIS AND REPORTING

* Continuously keep track and analyse the UKI ROI on local initiatives and launches and build following decisions according to insights in order to grow the business.
* Coordinate with the Marketing Coordinator NPD monthly reports, as well as ongoing competitor analysis to identify areas of opportunity within the business.





PROFILE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* Relevant experience in marketing with strong career progression; preferably within skincare
* Team Player and collaborative ways of working
* Passionate about working with own team and other departments
* Driven personality with ability to federate other teams around a common goal
* Strategic mind, analytical capabilities and affinity with numbers
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with gravitas and experience interacting with senior stakeholders in a multi-cultural work environment
* Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
* Strong commercial acumen
* Experience working with UKI retailers and leading Joint Business Plans
* Experience working with a region/zone would be a plus
* Ability to multi-task in a busy environment
* Extremely high degree of attention to detail and organisation
* Excellent English, written and spoken
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
* University degree
