Job purpose
As an Area Cleaning Manager you’ll manage, develop and motivate a team of Supervisors and Cleaners who are responsible for the delivery of a high standard cleaning service across a diverse portfolio. You’ll bring enthusiasm, dedication and a collaborative spirit to strengthen our culture.
What you’ll be doing
* Creating, implementing and managing operational objectives for your area, while remaining nimble and adaptable to the constantly changing environment.
* Managing the end‑to‑end employee lifecycle from start to finish, including finding, growing and keeping talent and inspiring teams to deliver their best work.
* Advising customers on cleaning specifications and providing tailored quotes based on customer requirements.
* Enthusiastically helping to shape and develop Unify as a best‑in‑class cleaning providership.
* Providing operational insight and knowledge, using data to highlight where we need to focus on our customer experience.
* Working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure that the various pieces of our service fit together perfectly for a seamless customer experience.
* Ensuring quality, detail, continuous improvement, efficiency and consistency through standardisation, record keeping and health & safety compliance.
* Having experience in specialist cleaning areas such as floor strip and sealing, steam/carpet/ upholstery cleaning and building cleans.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a team manager who has managed a similar sized team, is motivated by inspiring others, treats colleagues with compassion and supports them to thrive. Experience managing cleaning teams is a big advantage but managers from facilities or similar industries are also welcome. Hands‑on and compassionate leadership is essential.

This role is advertised for 37.5 hours per week, overseeing the operations of three shopping centres across Greater Manchester including Stretford Mall and Stamford Quarter. You’ll also manage a mobile team of 5 specialist cleaners responsible for portfolio‑wide ad‑hoc jobs, including carpet, window and builders cleans. The position requires 5 out of 7 days, mostly Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work.
