An established and fast‑growing UK manufacturer within the advanced engineering sector is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and scale its electro‑mechanical assembly operations.
This is a high‑impact leadership role offering real influence over shop‑floor performance, team development, and operational strategy. The business operates in regulated, mission‑critical markets such as aerospace, defence, medical and scientific — where quality, precision and reliability matter.
The Role
As Production Manager, you will take full ownership of shop‑floor operations, leading teams to deliver On Time In Full (OTIF) performance while driving continuous improvement across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
You will be a visible, credible leader who combines operational discipline with cultural leadership, helping build a high‑performance, Lean‑driven manufacturing environment ready to support further growth.
Key areas of responsibility include:
* Delivering production plans through strong daily management and KPI ownership
* Driving productivity, throughput, labour efficiency and cost control
* Embedding Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement as “the way we work”
* Developing frontline leaders and building long‑term team capability
* Ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards (e.g. AS9100 / ISO)
* Championing health, safety and operational excellence
Key Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will bring hands‑on leadership experience from an electro‑mechanical assembly environment, ideally within a regulated or high‑reliability industry.
Essential experience & background
* Strong background in electro‑mechanical, electronics assembly or complex build operations
* Track record of improving performance across quality, delivery, productivity and cost
* Experience leading teams in a regulated manufacturing environment
* Solid technical or engineering foundation (qualification or equivalent experience)
* Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
* Calm, resilient and solutions‑driven
* Comfortable leading change and influencing others
* Passionate about developing people and building strong teams
