Residential Child Care Worker

Salary: £31,537 - £34,434 per annum (+ 20% unsocial banding)

As a Residential Child Care Worker you will support young people aged 5 to 18 who are in care, edge of care or have a disability. You will work in a multi‑disciplinary team, providing practical support that promotes independence and well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, monitor and review individual risk assessments, homes support plans, care plans and ensure that all actions resulting from them are followed.
* Assist young people in dealing with behavioural, emotional or other difficulties in line with policy, procedure and regulation.
* Safeguard and child protection working practice.
* Participate in the professional life of the home and work as a member of the residential staff team.
* Accurately complete all relevant records and files in accordance with statutory requirements and home policies.
* Participate in training, attend staff meetings and assist with home functions including administration duties.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and understand OFSTED assessments.
* Support young people to develop skills and confidence moving on to independent living.
Key Requirements
* Experience delivering life skills and/or participation programmes to young people in a youth work, social care or health setting.
* At least 1 year’s experience working with children and young people.
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Competence in completing Level 3 in residential care is preferred.
* Attention to detail, keeping paperwork accurate, up‑to‑date and organised for manager review.
* Strong safeguarding awareness and child protection working practice.
