Our client is a boutique firm that helps organizations improve operational efficiency through the implementation of AI-powered solutions. They serve clients across industries including business services, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, and field service delivery.
The firm is seeking a Lean Operations Consultant to conduct operational diagnostics, develop value stream maps, and identify high-impact AI use cases across front-office, back-office, and manufacturing environments.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Lean Six Sigma expert who can bridge operational excellence methodologies with emerging AI technologies to drive measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead operational assessments and diagnostic engagements with client stakeholders.
* Conduct detailed value stream mapping (VSM) exercises across business processes, including:
* Front-office operations
* Back-office operations
* Manufacturing operations
* Analyze current-state processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, waste, and improvement opportunities.
* Develop future-state value stream maps and process improvement recommendations.
* Identify, prioritize, and document AI use cases that can improve operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and customer experience.
* Evaluate the feasibility, impact, and implementation readiness of identified AI opportunities.
* Facilitate workshops and interviews with business leaders, process owners, and operational teams.
* Present findings and recommendations to client leadership teams.
* Collaborate with AI implementation teams to translate operational insights into actionable solution roadmaps.
* Produce clear and professional assessment reports, process maps, and executive presentations.
Required Qualifications
* Expert-level experience in Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
* Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification.
* Engineering degree or professional engineering background.
* 10+ years of experience in Lean Operations, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or Process Transformation.
* Experience within manufacturing or financial services organizations.
* Experience identifying AI, automation, or digital transformation opportunities within business operations preferred
* Strong experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and process mapping sessions.
* Demonstrated success identifying operational improvement opportunities across multiple business functions.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
* Ability to engage effectively with executive-level stakeholders.
Project Details:
Start: July
Duration: 2 to 5 weeks per diagnostic project. Potential follow-on project to support implementation.
Time commitment: 2 to 3 days per week on the diagnostic
Location: Hybrid, with visits to client in the UK
Expected rate: €900 - €1200 per day
