Wire Erosion Technician
Salary: £30,000 £40,000 (dependent on experience)
Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk
Hours: MondayFriday, 37.5 hours per week
My client is a specialist manufacturing organisation producing advanced technical products for highly regulated sectors. They are seeking an experienced Wire Erosion Technician to support the production of precision tooling components and contribute to ongoing development projects across the business.
The Role
The Wire Erosion Technician will work as part of a fast-paced production environment, ensuring the efficient running of both wire and spark erosion machinery. This role supports multiple departments, playing a key part in maintaining high-quality tooling, enabling prototype development, and ensuring production-critical components are delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, program, and maintain wire erosion and spark erosion machines, ensuring consistent output and minimal downtime.
Prioritise workload according to production demands, ensuring machinery remains running efficiently.
Liaise regularly with senior management and colleagues to support prototype conversions, fixtures, and wider development projects.
Work closely with the tool repair team to prioritise and return essential tools swiftly.
Rework incorrectly produced parts to meet required specifications.
Perform routine machine maintenance to maintain performance and efficiency.
Skills & Experience Required
At least 5 years experience programming and operating both wire erosion and spark erosion machinery.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
Disciplined, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to interpret both metric and imperial engineering drawings.
Broad engineering knowledge and understanding of precision manufacturing environments.
