Schoen Clinic York is looking for someone to join our dedicated team as an Interim HR Advisor on a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you'll work closely with our Hospital Director and HR team, delivering expert on-site support across various HR matters. You will play a key role in ensuring HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and effectively, aligned with employment legislation.
Main duties of the job
Your responsibilities include embedding company policies, managing induction and probation processes, overseeing compliance reporting, enhancing the use of our HR Information System (HRIS), and providing guidance to line managers on employee relations issues, ensuring adherence to internal guidelines and legal standards.

This role is based on-site 5 days a week during usual working hours (9am - 5:30pm).

Job responsibilities
Employee Relations
* Advise, guide, and support managers on employee relations concerns in a timely manner, following policies and procedures.
* Attend relevant ER meetings as appropriate.
* Manage cases related to disciplinary, performance, grievance, and absence issues using the ER Tracker.
* Monitor employment practice trends and advise on proactive measures.
* Report on employee relations activity at site and Board levels.
* Escalate complex cases, including potential suspensions, to the UK HR Director.
* Support management with Occupational Health referrals.
Recruitment & Retention
* Collaborate with the Recruitment Business Partner on recruitment and selection.
* Analyze feedback surveys from new starters and leavers.
* Manage and support all probation periods across the group.
Reporting
* Produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports for the UK HR and Hospital Directors.
* Generate reports from the LMS system as needed.
* Support development and reporting of monthly KPIs via the HR Dashboard.
* Conduct HR audits to identify risks and recommend improvements.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experienced HR professional with healthcare sector background, confident managing employee relations cases from start to finish, and familiar with HR metrics and KPI reporting.
* Ability to work independently, detail-oriented, and capable of challenging the status quo.
* Proficient in Microsoft Windows, HR systems, and aware of data protection, GDPR, and confidentiality standards.
* Familiarity with PeopleHR or similar systems, and training in mediation/conflict resolution is advantageous.
