Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Principal Civil & Structural Engineer with a background in the nuclear sector to be engaged on a permanent basis; the role offers flexible hybrid working with a base in the North West ideally, either West Cumbria or Manchester.
The role is to join an existing well-established civil/structural team and to be responsible for the delivery of complex design packages for key nuclear clients.
This is a senior/lead level role on projects, and the individual must be able to demonstrate strong capabilities in becoming a civil/structural lead that can contribute to multi-disciplinary design delivery, with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and motivate a team, demonstrating good leadership qualities.
2. Work both independently and within a larger multi-discipline team.
3. Collaborate effectively with market colleagues, other wider-business colleagues, and the management team.
4. Deliver engineering design and substantiation, including first principles analysis.
Qualifications:
1. Experience and expertise in engineering design and substantiation.
2. Good knowledge of UK and International design codes and industry regulations.
3. Preference for previous experience in the nuclear sector, although this is not a requirement.
4. Candidates should be an Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartership with a recognised institution such as The Institution of Civil Engineers and/or The Institution of Structural Engineers.
5. Hold a minimum engineering degree qualification (accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers, or other recognised body).
