The primary role of a deputy manager at Littleinch Limited is to lead and manage the care team, helping them to deliver high standards. The deputy manager will also provide support to the home manager and take his/ her place when absent. Caring for residents at Littleinch Limited means playing an active role in their lives and therefore all staff are expected to assist residents to participate in meaningful activities.

As deputy manager, you will be expected to actively participate in care and will have rostered shifts. As a nurse, you will be responsible for developing resident's support plans and evaluating the care resident's receive. You will act a first point of contact for resident's and their relatives in ensuring wellbeing. You will undertake clinical duties such as administering medications, administering vaccinations, managing enteral feeding regimes and wound care. You will escalate residents care to the GP or refer on to allied health professionals where required.

Every resident is unique, they have strengths and weaknesses, hopes and fears. A deputy manager at Littleinch Limited will get to know each resident and both provide and oversee care that is as unique as they are – person centred care.

As deputy manager at Littleinch Limited, you will be responsible for the staff on shift and for the care residents receive. You will also support the home manager to run the home by ensuring safe staffing levels, undertaking pre-admission assessments, ensuring compliance with guidance and legislation, recruiting staff and arranging staff training and development. You will be the clinical lead in the home.

A deputy manager at Littleinch Limited requires patience, a sense of humour and the ability to relate to people from all walks of life. Kindness and empathy are key qualities for caring and this will extend to your staff too.

A deputy manager needs to find solutions to the everyday problems faced by both residents and staff. They must be able to communicate the solutions to these problems well. Deputy Managers at Littleinch Limited must be able to communicate to a very high standard with residents, their relatives, other health professionals and the staff team. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.

Deputy managers must lead their shift well. Leadership involves being able to delegate and negotiate duties within the care team as well as monitoring and evaluating the work of the care team.

You must be aware of relevant legislation in health & social care and be able to demonstrate use of this. You must also be aware of the purpose and scope of professional bodies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25.00-£26.52 per hour

Expected hours: 42 per week
