Buyer - About The Role
The Buyer role involves sourcing and purchasing materials or products needed for the production of goods. Responsibilities include ensuring materials are purchased cost-effectively, within budget, and delivered on time. You will liaise with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain good relationships to secure favorable terms. Monitoring supplier performance and quality, maintaining accurate inventory records, and staying updated on market trends are also key aspects of the role.
Responsibilities
* Outsourcing engineering services.
* Ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.
* Maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers.
* Analyzing market trends to determine competitive prices.
* Negotiating with suppliers for better prices and terms.
* Developing and implementing procurement strategies.
* Managing inventory levels and ensuring adequate stock.
* Coordinating with other departments for timely delivery.
* Updating and maintaining purchasing records.
* Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
What We Need From You
* Experience in the commercial engineering sector.
* Good understanding of Purchasing.
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Buying and negotiating skills.
* Experience with purchasing, preferably in engineering.
* GCSE or equivalent qualification.
* SAGE experience.
