Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year Requirements: We require a high level of security clearance, including DV clearance for the role. We are looking for experience as a third line Oracle Database Administrator in an operational support environment. We require a thorough understanding of Oracle databases, with knowledge of MSSQL and other database products beneficial. We are looking for experience supporting Oracle 10g/11g, with Oracle 12c support highly desirable. We value experience in an ITIL v3 support enterprise environment. We require knowledge of change and operational release cycles, including systems integration, development, and test. We are looking for experience with Windows Server, VMware environments, WebSphere, JBOSS, and Microsoft SQL. We value experience working within secure IT environments and applying software and systems engineering principles. Geo-spatial experience with products such as ArcGIS, Arc Server, and Arc SDE is highly advantageous. Experience in defence environments and/or working with imagery and geospatial tooling and datasets is highly desirable. We are looking for a proactive self-starter who can respond to complex situations with little oversight. We require strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with customers and colleagues. Occasional travel to other sites and out-of-hours on-call support may be required. Responsibilities: We provide enterprise operational database support and maintenance for complex imagery and geospatial system capabilities in a high-availability environment. We maintain Oracle database systems, and to a lesser extent MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases, in a predominantly Windows-based multisite enterprise solution. We support how these databases interact with the wider software solution and ensure service continuity. We maintain and update data models and data definition language, and we are responsible for database integrity. We provide remote and on-site support as required. We support ClearCase and ClearQuest software, including patch fixes. We communicate and interface with multiple providers, agencies, and customer organisations. We contribute to technical documentation and help maintain it over time. We provide material and support for change projects when required. We monitor the technology landscape and identify new technologies that can solve problems and improve service delivery. We work to customer milestones, KPIs, and SLAs while supporting live operational services.
