Job Description Lead Automation / Control Systems Engineer Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Automation / Control System Engineer to support our gas pipeline project feasibility study. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in automation systems, control engineering, and pipeline operations. This role involves leading the design and implementation of control strategies, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the proposed pipeline systems. Key Responsibilities: Lead the feasibility study for automation and control systems for the gas pipeline project. Develop and evaluate control system strategies and specifications for pipeline operations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project management, engineering, and operations, to ensure alignment with project goals. Conduct technical assessments and risk analyses related to control systems. Identify potential challenges and propose effective solutions to optimize automation processes. Prepare documentation, including technical reports, design specifications, and cost estimates. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and advancements in automation technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in automation and control systems design, preferably in the oil and gas or pipeline industry. Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA systems, and industry-standard control software. Proven experience in leading engineering projects and managing cross-functional teams. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly. Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to gas pipelines and automation systems.
