The Role
• The main purpose of this role is to manage an existing portfolio of business in the ( mainly ) European Grocery channel.
• The account base has huge potential and the aim is to grow export sales significantly within the next three to five years.
• This is eminently possible, and this is a great opportunity for somebody who is a go getter, and really wants to make a name for themselves.
• The job sells into the European retailers but via various European distributors
• In terms of retailers, the job holder will be dealing with the likes of Carrefour, Migros, Auchan, Mercadona, Albert Heijn, Jumbo.
• In terms of distributors, the likes of Atlante ( an Italian distributor ).
• There’ll be quite a lot of NPD / Innovation, and the job holder will be involved in working closely with the NPD team
• Export territories are yet to be decided but will likely include France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg ( Benelux ).
The Person
• Export sales experience is essential, ideally to Europe but candidates with exposure to any international territories would definitely be considered.
• It’s also important that candidates have an understanding of the different kinds of international trading terms.
• Exposure to both the distributor channel and the retail channel would be ideal although they would just about consider candidates with exposure to one or the other.
• Some experience of or at least an understanding of NPD would be a bonus, but is not essential
• Category Exposure – any FMCG. Chilled, ambient, or frozen.
• Exposure to any one of the above specific international retailers and/or distributors or similar would be a bonus.
• Based commutable to the office in London
