Town Planning consultant (graduate to principal) Hybrid working | Wiltshire Are you a talented town planner looking to develop your career in the South West? We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious professional - from graduate level through to principal town planner - to join a small family feel team, working across a variety of projects. What you'll be doing: ·Leading, supporting or delivering planning applications, appeals, preapplication advice, permitted development proposals, etc., depending on your experience level ·Interpreting policy, analysing planning policy and mapping it to development potential ·Preparing robust technical reports, coordinating with stakeholders, clients and consultees ·Supervising less experienced staff (if Principal level), mentoring graduates or more junior planners ·Developing professional networks across local government, private clients, developers, community groups What we're looking for: ·A qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning or related discipline; chartered membership of the RTPI desirable especially for senior roles ·Experience in local authority planning or private consultancy in the South West - or strong transferable skills with demonstrable understanding of UK planning system ·Competence across all stages of the planning process: applications, appeals, policy interpretation, permitted development, etc. ·Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present clear, wellargued reports ·Strong organisational ability, ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, work independently and in teams What's on offer: ·Salary £25,000 - £50,000 DOE ·Hybrid working ·Opportunity to grow and progress within the company, with increasing responsibility and leadership ·Exposure to diverse projects: local authority, private sector, development, community groups How to apply: Please send a CV to ashleigh.waterhouse@carringtonwest.com or call 02393 876 054 to discuss further We welcome applications from those early in their town planning careers as well as seasoned planners with principal town planner level experience!
