The successful applicant should be willing to learn, caring in nature, and kind. Reliability and a positive attitude towards work are valued. Full training can be provided for the right applicant.
As a Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
1. Understanding and providing for the health needs of clients, recognizing the effects on clients and families when ongoing care is needed.
2. Assisting clients with daily care needs they would normally undertake if able.
3. Participating in holistic caring activities.
4. Care for all clients’ needs with the aim of promoting independence.
5. Reading and acting on Care Plans to ensure continuity of care.
6. Respecting clients' rights to confidentiality.
7. Assisting with moving, handling, dressing, and hygiene needs.
8. Observing and reporting any changes in residents’ condition.
9. Reporting hazards or unsafe equipment to senior staff.
10. Attending in-service training and mandatory development sessions.
Desirable qualities and qualifications include:
1. Previous experience in care work within hospitals, care, or nursing homes.
2. A passion for elderly care.
3. NVQ2 / SVQ2 or QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care or Care.
