 
        
        Early Support Officer
Permanent, part-time (30 hours per week over four days) position in the Early Support Service (previously known as Early Help) at Warwickshire County Council. The role requires the successful candidate to work across any of the five districts and boroughs supporting Community Lead Professionals and to respond on a rotational basis as part of Family Connect (Warwick) as a duty Early Support Officer, responding to queries and escalation of needs.
The role requires a sound understanding of Warwickshire’s Spectrum of Support to ensure the needs of children are supported appropriately and the presentation of information for referrals and support services. The post holder will coordinate Early Support, working closely with Children and Families teams and a range of key stakeholders including statutory partners, service providers, the voluntary sector, children, young people and families.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
 * Respond to Early Support queries and assist families in accessing appropriate services.
 * Escalate needs to relevant professionals on a rotational basis.
 * Coordinate and support the Early Support network across the county.
 * Maintain accurate records and documentation using local authority systems.
 * Engage with statutory partners, service managers, and the voluntary sector to share information.
Qualifications
Essential experience and skills:
 * Educated to degree level (level 6) in a relevant field.
 * Confident in the delivery of training to professionals.
 * Model and develop a restorative/relational approach to building partnerships and strong professional relationships.
 * Develop targeted contacts to increase capacity and effectiveness of the Early Support network.
 * Communicate and interact with children and families in a restorative manner as part of the Early Support process.
 * Use Local Authority systems to monitor and record interventions and support for children and families.
 * Identify services to support children and families and advise practitioners about putting a package of support in place, requiring wide knowledge of the range of services available in the area and their criteria, including the administration of internal referral systems.
 * Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to respond to the needs of the service.

Additional Information
Applicants will be subject to pre-engagement checks, including a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and, if applicable, a Rehabilitation of Offenders Act assessment.
Fluency Duty: Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
