Role Summary
Under guidance from the head office creative team, lead the execution of all visual projects in store, delivering an inspiring, dynamic, and entertaining customer store experience. Collaborate with the display coordinator to deliver seasonal layouts and display schemes that set high standards for creative excellence. Support the communication and execution of these schemes across the district in partnership with peers.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Interpret company direction and current fashion trends to create market-specific visual merchandising solutions that support sales growth.
2. Seek outside inspiration and apply personal talent to develop unique perspectives for display concepts.
3. Lead and collaborate with the store manager, display coordinator, and other creative team members to execute innovative projects on time.
4. Manage the delivery of seasonal display concepts through effective planning, detailed mapping, and timely execution, sharing responsibilities with the display coordinator.
5. Communicate seasonal set-ups through effective photo layouts submitted quarterly, with guidance from the district creative team.
6. Implement all visual merchandising initiatives, window schemes, and styling directions in accordance with company guidelines to the highest standards.
7. Share merchandising concepts, initiatives, and trends with store teams via meetings, walkthroughs, and inspiration boards.
8. Inspire team members to achieve collaborative goals by sharing inspiration, ideas, and information from Head Office.
9. Delegate projects effectively, encouraging creativity and decision-making among team members.
10. Coach team members on merchandise placement, standards, promotion execution, and business analysis.
11. Facilitate efficient shipment processing to maximize sales.
12. Maintain an organized office, signage storage, and fixture areas.
13. Uphold mystery shop standards and maintain company-average results.
14. Build community relationships that reflect urban culture.
What You'll Need
* Proven experience in driving sales through excellent visual presentation and business acumen.
* Understanding of Urban Outfitters' culture and its appeal to the local market.
* Effective communication skills at all levels and strong organizational abilities.
* Project and time management experience.
* Willingness to travel and spend periods away from a home store.
* Retail management experience with interests in fashion, art, or music.
