A leading UK telecommunications and managed services provider is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing networking and connectivity division.
This organisation has built an outstanding reputation across the UK market for delivering high-quality connectivity, managed network and cloud solutions alongside exceptional customer service. Following a strong first half performance and continued investment across the commercial function, the business is expanding its networking sales capability within the SMB and mid-market space.
This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing new business salesperson who thrives in a consultative, solution-led environment and enjoys building long-term customer relationships within complex networking environments.
The Opportunity
This is a pure new business role focused on identifying, developing and closing opportunities across networking, connectivity and managed services solutions, with a particular focus around SD-WAN.
You’ll operate in a field-based capacity, meeting customers regularly and working closely alongside experienced pre-sales and technical specialists throughout the sales cycle. The business has invested heavily into both marketing and technical support functions, allowing sales teams to focus on customer engagement and revenue generation rather than technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Generate and win new business opportunities across networking and managed services solutions
• Build and develop pipeline activity within SMB and mid-market organisations
• Conduct consultative discovery meetings with prospective customers
• Position SD-WAN and broader networking solutions within customer environments
• Work collaboratively with pre-sales, technical architecture and delivery teams
• Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through to close
• Maintain accurate forecasting and strong pipeline management discipline
• Build strong market presence and relationships across target sectors
What We’re Looking For
• 3–5+ years’ experience within networking, telecoms or managed services sales
• Proven track record of winning net new business opportunities
• Strong understanding of networking and connectivity solutions including SD-WAN
• Experience selling consultative technology solutions into SMB or mid-market customers
• Commercially driven with a strong hunting mentality
• Comfortable operating within a field-based, customer-facing role
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Able to identify customer challenges and engage technical specialists appropriately
