ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Shell Fabricator to join our busy Shell Shop Department and play a key role in quite literally at the core of everything we do.
As a Shell Fabricator, you’ll be responsible for ensuring we are rally-ready with the fabrication and assembly of our roll rages for a variety of high-performing competition cars. From precision cutting and welding to custom modifications and safety installations, your craftsmanship will directly contribute to the performance and safety required as our competition cars tackle some of the world’s most challenging terrain.
The role responsibilities include:
* Fabricating items and sub-assemblies onto competition car roll cages.
* Fabricating and modify shells to FIA and M-Sport specifications.
* Working with carbon steel and aluminium to a high standard and accuracy.
* Carry out MIG and TIG welding, and structural reinforcement.
* Install roll cages and key safety structures.
* Setting up and operating fabrication workshop machinery – Guillotines/ Presses/ Folders.
* Cutting and shaping materials using grinders/ oxy fuel/ plasma processes.
* Fabricating jigs and fixtures.
* Working closely with Designers and Senior Fabricators with development work.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:
* Educated to a Level 3 certificate or equivalent qualification in Fabrication and Welding. Along with having a good knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.
* High-quality welding skills (MIG and TIG) with excellent attention to detail and highly organised.
* Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication jigs. Along with understanding basic inspection and measurement tools.
* Skilled in multitasking and prioritising workloads under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for problem solving.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
* Previous experience in a similar fabrications workshop/environment.
