Description

The job itself

Are you passionate about Teaching and Learning and dedicated to making a positive impact on Children's lives?

The team at The Hub School are looking to appoint a classroom teacher to work predominantly in KS2 who will play a pivotal role in inspiring the next generation of young learners.

Starting as soon as possible, the role is up to full time and will be paid on TEAL's qualified teachers pay scale (points 1 to 9), plus SEN allowance. If you are interested in working on a part time basis, please get in touch as we would be happy to explore this further with you.

Why choose us?

We offer specialist support for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and this is at the centre of everything we do. We support our pupils to accelerate their academic, social and emotional skills development and ultimately enable them to positively engage with learning. We have a strong, supportive and dedicated team who collectively work with all stakeholders to provide the best possible educational experience and environment. Our Trust moto is 'work hard and be nice to people'. We are genuinely committed to our pupils and our staff, and we do everything we can to ensure every child receives the care and guidance they need to thrive.

Within The Education Alliance Multi Academy Trust, there are lots of opportunities for collaboration and also further opportunities to develop and progress. As a trust, we are here to make great schools and happier, stronger communities so that people have better lives.

For too long in many schools, staff have been asked to choose between being seen as good at their job and being a good mum, dad, partner, son, daughter or friend. We are doing everything we can to support our staff to balance the demands of their jobs and those at home.

To support this, we:

1. Trust our staff to plan, prepare and assess at the best time for them, allowing them to go off-site in their PPA.
2. Have centralised our Behaviour Policy so teachers are freed up from supervising detentions.
3. Demand ethical leadership built on professional trust.
4. Reject fads and ensure our CPD is evidence-informed and predominantly subject specific.
5. Have reduced data collections to twice yearly.
6. Do not deploy staff at other Trust schools unless it is at their request.

We have removed the following:

7. Performance management objectives and performance-related pay.
8. Lesson observations and high stakes, toxic accountability
9. Onerous marking policies.
10. Requirements for daily or weekly lesson plans.

Above all, we recognise that seeking to remove the number of tasks staff undertake will have little effect on improving work/home balance if this happens within a toxic culture. To support this, we offer training for our leaders to ensure they are able to translate our values into behaviours which are built on the principles of dignity, respect, professionalism and integrity.

We offer a range of benefits, including:

11. Ethical leadership, professional trust and autonomy and a caring ethos in which everyone is valued and respected.
12. A great programme of CPD and opportunities to collaborate with other teaching professionals across TEAL.
13. Family friendly policies, including sector leading Maternity, Adoption and Neonatal care pay offers.
14. Opportunities for flexible working.
15. Well-being support including discounted East Riding gym membership; free annual flu vaccinations; refund of the cost of the annual NHS prescription prepayment certificate; access to a free employee assistance scheme 24/7 with advice on a wide range of practical issues ranging from legal information and consumer issues to specialist counselling or our virtual GP service.
16. Access to our staff benefits platform which includes big brand discounts and other financial incentives including a cycle to work scheme offering discounted bike purchases
17. Membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.

What are we looking for?
