Role Purpose The Middle Office Assistant will provide operational support across core banking functions, carrying out a variety of administrative tasks to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to internal policies and UK regulatory requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and a high level of proficiency. Key Responsibilities Opening, updating, and maintaining customer accounts in accordance with company policies and procedures Processing account transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers Assisting customers with online banking setup Handling customer enquiries related to accounts, fees, statements, and transactions Supporting the reconciliation of discrepancies in customer accounts Resolving account-related issues and escalating complex matters when required Ensuring full compliance with KYC, AML, and regulatory standards Monitoring accounts for suspicious activity and reporting irregularities Maintaining accurate and confidential customer records Processing documentation related to treasury activities, such as certificates of deposit and derivative transactions (e.g., NDFs, IRS, CCRS) Setting up and maintaining vendors and standing orders Managing the setup, modification, and removal of SWIFT RMA relationships Supporting system enhancements, automation initiatives, and data integrity checks Collaborating with IT teams to improve middle-office reporting tools Desirable Experience 12 years experience in banking, customer service, or account management Strong understanding of banking operations, account servicing, and financial regulations Knowledge & Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Intermediate Excel skills and strong data-entry capability Language Requirements Proficiency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken)
