* To lead the Quality Audit (CPSS) department in the delivery of a safe and effective review of emergency call handling performance.
* Identify areas for improvement within the Quality Audit team and call handling team, and work with the wider Operations Quality team to implement necessary changes.
Main duties of the job
* Develop positive working relationships and open communication with internal and external stakeholders and engage with them to ensure quality, accuracy, and shared learning within the Quality Audit (CPSS) team.
* Identify themes and trends arising from random audit and implement appropriate changes within the Quality Audit team to address any learning, including the design and delivery of training programmes across the organisation and with external stakeholders where required.
* Responsible for the line management of the Quality Audit team, and for the management of the Quality Audit function.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent experience.
* In depth theoretical knowledge and experience of all MPDS/CPSS protocols, quality audit processes and methodology, and all associated rules and axioms.
Desirable criteria
* Thorough understanding of the IAED, CPSS, and leading a team in achieving the IAED’s Twenty Points for Accreditation.
Shortlisting
Essential criteria
* Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) or Call Prioritisation Streaming System (CPSS) certified.
* EMD/CPSS Mentor certified.
Interview
Essential criteria
* EMD/CPSS certified.
* EMD/CPSS Mentor certified.
* Emergency Dispatch/Call Prioritisation System Quality Audit certified.
* Have knowledge of all roles within the EMS Coordination Centre.
* Have an in-depth understanding of how MPDS/CPSS works in conjunction with other policies and procedures, e.g. the Clinical Response Model, Dispatch Cross Reference table and EMD standard operating procedures.
* Experience of managing a team, including performance management and supporting development.
* Experience of call handling, quality audit and supervisory roles within the EMS Coordination/Integrated Care Centres, or wider Operations Quality team.
* Experience of using multiple EMS Coordination/Integrated Care systems, such as the Computer Aided Dispatch system, Paramount, NICE Recorder and LifeX Recorder, with a detailed understanding of the functionality of these systems.
* Experience of delivering training to staff.
Desirable criteria
* Thorough understanding of the IAED, MPDS/CPSS and leading a team in achieving the IAED’s Twenty Points for Accreditation.
* Experience of decision making in a dynamic environment.
* Welsh Language Skills are desirable in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.
