Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Fully office-based
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day running of the finance function. This fully office-based position is well suited to someone with strong Excel skills and solid experience within transactional finance who is looking to develop their accounting career.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and within deadlines
* Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
* Performing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
* Assisting with month-end processes including preparing supporting schedules
* Maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with audit requirements
* Producing reports and carrying out data analysis using Excel
* Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong Excel skills (essential), including formulas, pivot tables and data analysis
* Previous experience working in an accounts or finance role
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Strong communication skills with a professional and collaborative approach
Desirable (Nice to Have)
* Experience using Xero accounting software
* Exposure to month-end reporting or assisting with management accounts
* Studying towards, or interest in studying towards, an accounting qualification (AAT or similar)
