Element is seeking a Senior Cyber Engineer to join our growing Cyber Engineering Services team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in security engineering, responsible for safeguarding complex global environments and designing scalable security solutions across application, cloud, and infrastructure domains.
This hybrid role involves designing and implementing secure technical solutions to defend against cyber threats, with a focus on detection engineering within Element's security tooling.
Core Responsibilities
1. Design and implement technical solutions and security tools to address vulnerabilities, mitigate threats, and automate tasks.
2. Plan, implement, and manage the security operations tooling roadmap.
3. Engineer, deploy, monitor, and upgrade cybersecurity infrastructure and technologies.
4. Create and maintain detection rules to identify suspicious activities and threats.
5. Develop and optimize SIEM event correlation rules to filter security events effectively.
6. Support the transition of projects into operational service.
7. Develop new security tools and solutions for vulnerability mitigation and automation.
8. Maintain adherence to design documentation and procedures.
9. Conduct security checks and troubleshoot issues.
10. Prepare operational procedures and protocols.
11. Collaborate with the Cyber Defence team to uphold security practices.
12. Support incident response efforts.
13. Assist in operational and management reporting.
Skills / Qualifications
* Self-motivated with a positive mindset, supporting business growth through security as an enabler.
* Strong intellectual agility and adaptability across business contexts.
* Expertise in at least one security domain: Platform Protection, Network Architecture, or Cloud Security.
* Ability to review and provide input on designs, reports, and standards.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical findings for non-technical audiences.
* Up-to-date knowledge of security principles, techniques, and trends.
* Experience with networking in multi-site, multinational environments.
* Familiarity with security technologies such as NDR, content filtering, firewalls, IPS/IDS, DDoS, EDR/MDR, DAST/SAST, IAM, SIEM, and SOAR.
* Experience in cyber defense operations, with previous roles as a Cyber Security Engineer or related positions.
* International and multicultural work experience preferred.
* Proactive communicator, comfortable engaging with staff at various levels.
* Interest or experience in working within complex, federated organizations.
* Supportive of infrastructure and application development and support.
