Bringing together a range of environmental health, enforcement, technical and income generating activities, the partnership is trailblazing a new approach to regulatory services in the capital.
We are looking for an excellent candidate to support building safety across the Private Sector Housing portfolio; principally in relation to high rise safety in the London Borough of Wandsworth.
About the role
You will also work with key stakeholders including resident groups, developers, and colleagues in other governmental departments, to ensure leaseholder safety is protected and resident concerns are effectively addressed.
The successful candidates will be required to inspect and evaluate housing hazards, arrange, and enforce remedial work and give advice regarding matters that may affect the health and safety of occupants living in high rise buildings.
You will ensure intelligence around building risk is managed effectively and responded to appropriately. Working with a team of professional officers, you will also ensure opportunities for grant funding are both explored, delivered & suitably monitored.
The London Borough of Wandsworth is placing increasing importance on this area of work, and you will be joining at a critical time; with the ability to shape the response to this key emerging issue to the benefit of many residents.
About you
You will be qualified in a relevant discipline and have substantial relevant experience in building safety. You will have the ability to use information and technology to assist with planning, inspection, and review of buildings across the borough with minimum supervision. You will also have experience working proactively with internal and external stakeholders.
