Role Profile
Group Procurement manages third‑party supplier engagements, partnering with the business to deliver high performance and sustainable value. The Group Procurement organisation includes:
* Supplier spend of approximately £2 bn and around 5,000 suppliers
* Three towers aligned to master spend categories: Technology, Services and Corporate
* A Strategy & Performance centre, a Third‑Party Risk Management (TPRM) team and a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) team
* Key hubs in London, Bangalore and New York with decentralised support for local markets
The purpose of this role is to support the Category Lead and Category Managers with the delivery of the category strategy and the deployment of the supplier relationship management (SRM) program, to resolve quality issues with the supply base and to monitor the PR/PO pipeline. The role will perform a combination of sourcing, supplier management and business engagement activities, with an emphasis on sourcing.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of the category strategy and deployment of the SRM program.
* Participate in the development of sourcing strategies, including risk identification and key outputs.
* Lead sourcing and negotiation activities for low to medium spend SOWs across the team, analyse financial and commercial structure and engage Legal as needed.
* Engage SOW owners to ensure renewal is required and scale is accurate.
* Ensure purchase requests are raised in a timely manner and meet required standards.
* Support Category Leads or Category Managers with SRM activities and allocated supplier relationships.
* Maintain the PR/PO pipeline for the assigned category of spend.
* Review project pipelines and approvals across PR/PO, SOWs in Fieldglass and liaise with Category Leadership.
* Ensure supplier contracts are fully signed, onboarded and approved.
* Keep Category Managers and business contacts updated on sourcing project status.
* Research market and industry developments and recommend alternate sources of supply.
Engagement with LSEG Business
* Engage key partners across the business (Legal, Finance, HR) to progress queries.
* Deal with queries from LSEG staff, alerting Category Managers as appropriate.
* Work with delivery teams to identify and maintain the project pipeline.
* Support business as usual activities.
Procurement Systems, Tools & Data
* Maintain data within procurement systems and tools (pipeline management tool, savings tracker, supplier and contract databases, category spend metrics).
* Keep purchasing, pricing and supplier master data up to date on relevant IT systems.
* Assess benefits of new sourcing solutions and support design, implementation and management of procurement systems.
Contract Management
* Ensure relevant contracts are in place for key suppliers and monitor contract performance.
* Identify when corrective action is needed and prepare robust variations with proper approvals.
* Assist business and suppliers across the end‑to‑end sourcing process, including review of purchase orders and facilitation of exceptions.
* Raise contract issues to Category Managers or Legal as appropriate.
* Promote continuous improvement by challenging processes and procedures.
Candidate Profile – Essential
* Good experience in buying / procurement of IT professional services.
* Commercially minded, proficient negotiator.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to build positive supplier relationships.
* Experience in market and category analysis.
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet agreed target dates.
* Strong IT skills (Office programs, Procurement systems such as Ariba and Fieldglass).
* Ability to provide management information to support sourcing and contract processes.
* Proven track record in influencing senior management and building relationships.
* Analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
* Pro‑active, initiative‑driven and able to deliver on time, budget and quality.
* Teamwork – ability to work with local and offshore category teams.
* Degree level education.
Candidate Profile – Desirable
* Procurement / supply operation qualification (e.g. MCIPS, IAACM or working towards one).
* Knowledge of Agile SOW construction, SLAs and outcome‑based contracting.
* Experience working with suppliers such as EPAM, TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Synechron and DXC.
* Experience in FinTechs or global multi‑country organisations.
* Experience in e‑sourcing and e‑auctions.
