Lead Service Charge Solicitor

A specialist property and leasehold practice is seeking a Lead Service Charge Solicitor to join their growing Service Charge and Arrears team. This is a rare opportunity for a solicitor or legal executive with litigation experience to step into a leadership-focused role, managing both your own caseload and supervising a high-performing group of paralegals.

The Role
You will handle your own caseload of service charge debt recovery and property-related litigation matters, while also taking responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of paralegals managing volume service charge cases.
Your work will include:
1. Running and progressing a busy caseload of service charge arrears and related litigation
2. Overseeing case progression across the paralegal team to ensure deadlines, KPIs, and milestones are consistently met
3. Stepping into or taking conduct of complex or high-risk cases where needed
4. Supervising the drafting of documents, ensuring quality and accuracy
5. Conducting monthly 1–1s and supporting the development of junior team members
6. Reviewing performance data to identify delays, patterns, or areas for improvement
7. Working closely with business support and CRM teams to enhance client service and workflows
8. Representing the team confidently in client meetings and contributing to process improvement initiatives
This is a role for someone who enjoys leadership, structure, accountability and commercial performance.
What They’re Looking For
9. Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with over 1 year PQE
10. Experience in debt recovery, service charge arrears, or civil litigation
11. Supervising or mentoring ability (formal management experience is not essential)
12. Commercially minded, KPI-driven, resilient, and confident in decision-making
13. Excellent organisation, communication, and prioritisation skills
