Overview
Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and committed Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist to join SMABS (Specialist Mother and Baby Mental Health Service) as a substantive Consultant. The service covers the Bradford, Airewarfe and Craven areas. The post is based at Fieldhead Business Centre, Bradford, and you will work with Dr Lian Chua (6PA) and a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical medical input and leadership to ensure delivery of safe, effective and high-quality specialist care.
* Deliver direct patient care including new assessments for complex patients, medication and diagnostic assessment, lead CPA reviews and multi-agency meetings and pre-birth planning appointments.
* Provide urgent reviews and lead discharge planning for complex patients.
* Provide clinical leadership and consultation beyond the SMABS team to support colleagues across different teams and disciplines where perinatal mental health complexities arise.
* Support SMABS duty coverage; a duty worker triages referrals and provides advice to professionals across maternity, primary care and secondary care including Single Point of Access, Intensive Home Treatment and First Response.
* Contribute to flexible working across the district with a mix of face-to-face and remote working using Teams; develop a clinical network within the ICB footprint.
* Contribute to future service development and participate in weekly senior leadership team meetings.
* Support continued professional development, including opportunities for clinical education, research or leadership interests.
* Support wellbeing initiatives and work with the Medical Council on clinical leadership decisions.
Location and working pattern
The team covers a wide geographical area. The post involves working across the Bradford district with a mix of face-to-face and remote work using Teams. Location at Fieldhead Business Centre, Bradford. The area includes rural and urban communities within Bradford district and surrounding areas.

Requirements
We expect you to be a Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist with clinical leadership experience and ability to lead in a multi-disciplinary setting, with capability to manage complex perinatal mental health cases and coordinate cross-agency meetings.
