Payroll Assistant
📍 Lancashire (Hybrid – 3–4 days office)

Contract: 12-month FTC
The Role
A hands-on payroll position within a small team, supporting end-to-end payroll for a growing UK workforce.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing while supporting system improvements and handling employee queries.
Key Responsibilities
* Support end-to-end monthly payroll processing
* Process starters, leavers, and payroll changes
* Calculate statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP)
* Assist with pension administration and auto-enrolment
* Maintain payroll systems and ensure data accuracy
* Handle payroll queries from employees
* Support audits and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
The Ideal Candidate
* UK payroll experience (essential)
* Good understanding of payroll legislation and RTI processes
* Strong Excel and payroll systems knowledge
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Confident handling payroll queries
* Proactive and able to work in a small team environment
* CIPP study or qualification (desirable)
