Modern Slavery (MS) and Organised Immigration Crime (OIC) National Training Development Specialist
We are welcoming applications for the role of Modern Slavery (MS) & Organised Immigration Crime (OIC) National Training Development Specialist with the Police.
Salary: Grade 7 - Starts at £36,630, rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £40,893 per annum.
Note: The salary is based on a 37-hour workweek. Part-time roles will have a prorated salary. Exceptions to the starting salary may apply for existing Police Staff employees at the same grade.
Type of employment: Fixed Term, Internal Secondment.
Working arrangement: Hybrid Worker – flexible working with a mix of remote and on-site work.
End date of role: 31/03/2026.
Additional notes: Non-police staff appointed to this role will be offered a fixed-term contract. Internal applicants should seek support from their line manager for temporary release. External secondments require support from the Force Executive. Returning to the substantive role occurs at the end of the secondment, unless the releasing department is under review.
Hours per week: 37 hours. Part-time applications are welcome, and flexible working patterns will be considered.
Allowances: No allowances are attached to this role.
About the role:
The primary responsibility is to deliver priorities set by NPCC and the Home Office, focusing on Safeguarding, Policy, Operational Activity, Ports and Borders, and Training.
Responsibilities include reviewing and providing national-level training, assisting forces in staff training, and enhancing knowledge and consistency in UK policing responses.
The role involves collaboration with statutory agencies and NGOs to improve partnership responses to Organised Immigration Crime and Modern Slavery across England & Wales.
The successful candidate will develop and deliver training across the UK, involving travel for in-person sessions and online delivery. Training will be tailored for police officers, staff, and some NGOs.
The role is flexible regarding location within the UK, with travel expenses covered by the program.
The training aims to improve understanding of MS and OIC, leading to better safeguarding and justice outcomes.
