I am recruiting for an established reputable business in Manchester who are looking to hire a Financial Controller, this is a newly created role allowing the Finance Director the opportunity to step up and help scale the business.
As Financial Controller you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of the business, providing insightful financial analysis, ensuring robust financial controls, and supporting strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities will include:
* Oversee and manage all financial operations including month-end and year-end close processes including attendance at board meetings to present the financials
* Prepare monthly management accounts, reports, and financial statements
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes
* Manage statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors and advisors
* Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies
* Monitor and improve internal controls, systems, and processes
* Partner with key departments to provide financial insight and business support
* Manage and develop a small finance team
* Support the Board with financial planning, investment appraisals, and strategic initiatives
* Oversee stock valuation and margin analysis
* Coordinate foreign currency management and supplier payment strategies
Experience wise I am looking for a fully qualified accountant who has held a similar Manager/Controller role in an SME, strong financial modelling skills and someone who is strong on systems and improving finance processes. Sector wise experience in a product, import/export environment would be advantageous.
