Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to support young people in our community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about mentoring and guiding youth, fostering a positive environment that encourages personal growth and development. Responsibilities
* Develop and implement engaging programmes tailored to the needs of young people, including educational activities, recreational events, and mentoring sessions.
* Support children and teenagers with diverse backgrounds, including those with special educational needs or behavioural challenges.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where young people feel valued and heard.
* Act as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviour and effective communication skills.
* Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of each young person.
* Monitor progress and provide feedback on behavioural or developmental concerns to relevant stakeholders.
* Organise group activities that promote teamwork, confidence, and social skills.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour incidents, and programme outcomes.
Skills
* Experience in teaching or working with children and young people is highly desirable.
* Strong mentoring abilities with a genuine interest in youth development.
* Knowledge of youth work practices and strategies for engaging diverse groups of young people.
* Familiarity with special education needs (SEN) and inclusive approaches to support learners with additional requirements.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport easily.
* Organised with the ability to plan activities effectively whilst remaining adaptable to changing circumstances.
