As a key worker in our Healthcare Division, you play a vital role in the success of phs. To our customers, you are the face of the company. Your excellent customer service skills help keep our customers satisfied and loyal.
As an experienced Class 2 Service Driver, your responsibilities include collecting health-related waste, such as Pharmaceutical, Non-hazardous, and Hazardous Waste, as well as clinical waste. Currently, this includes supporting the nation’s Covid testing stations. Regardless of your route, you'll be essential in maintaining hygiene and freshness at our customers' facilities.
A day in the life of a Service Driver at phs involves:
* Following planned routes using PDA devices to confirm collections and manage site access issues. Familiarity with in-cab technology, satellite navigation, and smartphones will be beneficial.
* Operating Soft Compaction Vehicles designed for our service, similar to refuse collection vehicles.
* Emptying and collecting Euro Bins containing offensive waste.
* Supporting Covid testing stations by collecting sealed waste.
* Completing hazardous consignment notes and transfer notes.
* Returning daily to your depot to unload collected waste.
The ideal candidate for a Service Driver role at phs will:
* Prioritize safety and legal compliance. We welcome applications from individuals with a good safety record.
* Hold a Category C (LGV Class 2) license, a current Driver CPC card, and a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
* Have held a full driving license for at least 12 months, with no more than 6 penalty points and no IN or DD endorsements within the last five years.
* Be open-minded about the types of products carried.
* Have vaccinations against Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Polio, and ideally Hepatitis A, which are paid for by phs due to the nature of waste handled.
In return for your commitment and expertise, you will receive:
* A salary of £35,549 based on a 45-hour workweek, Monday to Friday PM shift.
* 13 pay periods per year (every 4 weeks).
* Discounts with retailers including O2 and F&B.
* Pension scheme.
* 31 days of annual leave, including Christmas Day, with 30 days available for booking during the holiday year. Note that bank holidays are normal working days, except for Christmas Day.
