General Operations Administrator Leyland, Preston 39 hours per week £12.46 per hour (rate to be reviewed from April) Weekly pay (Friday) for previous weeks hours 12-week temp to perm contract Hours Monday – Thursday: 8.00am – 4.30pm Friday: 8.00am – 3.30pm NW Recruitment Services Ltd are working on behalf of an established and expanding manufacturing client in Leyland to recruit a General Operations Administrator to support day-to-day operational and production activities. This is a varied, hands-on administrative role, ideal for someone with strong organisational skills who enjoys working across multiple departments in a fast-paced operational environment. The General Operations Administrator will support manufacturing operations by coordinating administrative, logistical and operational processes to ensure efficient workflow, accurate data management and compliance with company procedures. The role acts as a key point of contact between production, procurement, quality, maintenance, logistics providers and management teams. Key responsibilities Provide day-to-day administrative support to operations, management and cross-functional teams Maintain organised digital and physical filing systems for operational documentation Collect, enter and maintain accurate operational data using internal systems and spreadsheets Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality and compliance with company policies Monitor and track operational activities to ensure deadlines and service standards are met Identify operational inefficiencies and support process improvement initiatives Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking, keeping all systems up to date Liaise with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve issues Manage goods in and goods out, checking deliveries against paperwork and reporting discrepancies Create and issue internal paperwork for drivers and 3PL warehouse providers Regularly update component and production schedules and distribute updates to the production team Support audits and internal reviews by preparing required documentation Act as a point of contact for internal and external communications Carry out general administrative duties as required Skills & experience required Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage workload effectively Excellent time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Positive, proactive attitude and confidence dealing with stakeholders at all levels Desirable NVQ in Business and Administration or similar Previous experience in an administrative, operations or office support role Experience supporting multiple departments within an operational or manufacturing environment
