Compassionate Sheffield is hiring an Administrative and Data Officer

In Sheffield, people should be able to live and die, in a city that supports compassion, dignity and connection. The Compassionate Sheffield Programme exists to make this a reality, and we’re looking for someone skilled in administration and data coordination to join our team and support this project.

About the Role

As the Administrative and Data Officer, you will support the delivery of the project by collecting, storing, and reporting on data in line with our evaluation framework. Helping us demonstrate the difference we make to the individuals, communities and organisations we work with. You will also efficiently organise our project documents, coordinate diaries, and track and review progress. Helping us keep programme delivery on track.

This is a rare opportunity to join a passionate team who are aiming to create meaningful cultural change around death, dying and grief across communities, organisations, and the wider end-of-life system in Sheffield. If you have the passion, skills, and experience, we’d love to hear from you.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who combines strong organisational and administrative skills with confidence in working with data. You will bring:

* Experience of collecting, recording and maintaining accurate data or information
* Experience of producing reports, dashboards or data summaries
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and confidence learning new systems
* The ability to organise information clearly and keep records accurate and up to date
* Strong planning, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* The ability to coordinate team activities, track actions and meet deadlines
* Clear written and verbal communication skills, including note-taking and report writing

You will also have a good understanding of data protection and the ethical use of data, including GDPR, and an understanding of how good data supports effective project delivery.

About you

Just as important as your skills are your values. We’re looking for someone who is:

* Empathetic and comfortable working with sensitive topics such as death, dying and grief
* Committed to reducing inequalities and improving people’s experiences
* Collaborative, reliable and supportive within a team environment
* Curious, organised and motivated to learn and develop
* Professional, with a strong commitment to confidentiality, integrity and transparency

Experience working in health, social care, voluntary or community settings would be an advantage, but is not essential.

This is a rare opportunity to join a passionate team working to create meaningful cultural change across communities, organisations and the wider end-of-life system in Sheffield.

You will be part of a programme that is not only improving services but reshaping how people experience and talk about death, dying and grief, ensuring compassion is at the heart of our city.

In addition to a supportive work environment, we provide opportunities for ongoing training and development, a competitive benefit package, and a chance to be part of a compassionate and dedicated team.

* Play a key role in shaping a safe and supportive organisation
* Work across diverse teams and environments
* Make a meaningful impact on staff, volunteers, and visitors
* Be part of a values-driven organisation committed to doing things well
