This role is critical in maintaining, repairing, and improving tooling for various equipment, ensuring smooth production processes and high-quality outputs. Tool Maker Permanent Salary dependent on experience Monday – Friday (37 hours/week) Woking Tool Maker Job Description Maintaining, servicing, and repairing tooling for power presses, hydraulic presses, and CNC punch presses to support production and R&D activities. Diagnosing tooling issues, implementing effective solutions, and conducting routine inspections to minimize downtime and enhance performance. Designing and developing assembly jigs and pneumatic tooling to improve manual assembly tasks and ensure consistency. Collaborating with production and engineering teams to review new product designs and advise on design-for-manufacturing considerations. Leading or supporting site improvement projects, including manufacturing processes, facilities, and equipment maintenance. Tool Maker Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a related discipline Proven experience in the service and repair of press tooling, including punch and die Proficiency in using tool room equipment such as surface grinders, mills, lathes, and semi-CNC machines Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
