Alumah (a charity based in Suffolk that supports victims and families where there is domestic abuse) is looking to recruit trustees. You can make a difference to the lives of adults, young people and children, changing it for the better.
What difference will you make?
Being a trustee with Alumah means that you will empower people to live a life that is free from domestic abuse, one that they did not believe was possible. Through Alumah, you will help and support young people and children in recognising abusive relationships, how to stay safe and break the chains of abuse; ensuring they build positive relationships with their family and friends.
What are we looking for?
We welcome people with a wide range of skills and experiences, in particular fundraising, marketing and growing a business.
What will you be doing?
The role of trustee at Alumah is a voluntary one. The board meets four times a year in Brandon, Suffolk, with the availability of joining via Zoom if required. It would be expected that a trustee would attend at least two out of four meetings and be part of one or more subcommittees. Ongoing training and support are provided. A trustee ensures that their charity has a clear strategy and that its work and goals are in line with its vision. All decisions put the needs of our clients first. In particular we are looking for people who understand or may have experience of fundraising, legal expertise or marketing. However, people with other skills and experiences would be most welcome. As a board we wish to diversify and so are keen to hear from younger people (18+), adults from a variety of ethnic groups and sexual orientation.
