We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4 to 16 within a highly supportive specialist setting in Frome. This role is available after Easter, with the potential to start full-time as soon as possible. The school is known for its inclusive, nurturing environment and strong commitment to both pupil and staff development. You will be supporting children with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD), working as part of a collaborative team that prioritises individual progress, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for every learner.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with a range of learning needs in class and one-to-one
Assist with tailored learning activities and structured routines
Promote a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
Work closely with teaching staff to meet individual needs
Encourage independence, communication and social development
Skills and Experience
Energetic personality with a positive and proactive approach
Patience and understanding of children with diverse learning abilities
Ability to commit to Monday to Friday for consistency for students
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Previous SEN or school experience is desirable but not essential
