I'm currently partnered with a fast-growing engineering business in Broughton who are seeking multiple Mechanical Technicians and Electrical Technicians to join their team, working on bespoke lifting and material handling equipment as part of a project for a high profile client with a global brand. The role will initially be on a contract basis until April 2026 with the potential view to turn permanent in or beyond that time frame.
Shift Pattern: Days (Flexible start & finish times)
Rate: 35,000 - 40,000 pa (negotiable)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities
Visual inspection of incoming components and parts.
Fit and assemble components following detailed engineering drawings and build instructions.
Conduct mechanical and/or electrical checks to ensure correct functionality.
Work collaboratively or alongside lead technicians and engineers to integrate PLC systems.
Maintain accurate records of assembly and testing procedures.
Adhere to health and safety standards and company procedures at all times.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in mechanical assembly or electrical wiring, ideally within an engineering or industrial environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
For the electrical roles, familiarity with wiring and electrical installation (ideally holding 17th / 18th edition)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good manual dexterity and physical fitness for hands-on work.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Forklift or overhead crane operation certification.
