Performing Arts Technician – Secondary School (KS3–KS5)
Teach Now are recruiting on behalf of a high-performing, oversubscribed 11–18 secondary school and sixth form in Hertfordshire. We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and creative Performing Arts Technician to join a thriving Performing Arts department and support students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for the performing arts who enjoys working in a dynamic, hands-on environment. You will play a central role in helping to deliver outstanding Drama, Dance and Music lessons, while also providing technical expertise for school productions, concerts and events.
About the Role
As a Performing Arts Technician, you will:
• Provide technical support for lighting, sound, AV, stage management and production set-up
• Assist teaching staff in the preparation and delivery of high-quality lessons
• Support rehearsals, performances and extra-curricular activities across the department
• Maintain equipment, organise resources and ensure safe working practices at all times
• Help create a professional, inspiring and inclusive environment where students can thrive creatively
• Collaborate closely with teachers, students and wider school staff to bring creative projects to life
What We’re Looking For
• A strong interest in performing arts, with technical experience in lighting, sound or stage management
• Organised, reliable and proactive, with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, creative environment
• Confident collaborating with young people and staff
• Previous experience in education, technical theatre or production support is desirable but not essential
