Flight Harness Technician required on a 6-month contract basis. Based at our offices in Alton, Hampshire. This role is offered Inside IR35.
Who are you?
As a member of the Manufacturing Team, you will be responsible for manufacturing and testing spacecraft DC harnesses. You should be an enthusiastic, self-starting individual committed to good practices, process adherence, and continuous improvement across projects. You will work collaboratively within In-Space Missions, enjoy teamwork, and be adaptable to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience required:
* Build and test of flight harnesses according to IPC-WHMA-620E
* Prototype wiring and new product development
* Working with electrical drawings, wiring schedules, and BOMs
* Clean room procedures, including ESD disciplines
* Use of cleanroom equipment, tooling, and cleaning processes
* Handling chemical adhesives, epoxies, and glues with traceability
* Knowledge of health & safety standards
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation
* Certification in ECSS-Q-ST-70-61, ECSS-Q-ST-70-28, ECSS-Q-ST-10-09 is advantageous; experience with THT, SMT, repair, and modification is a plus.

Responsibilities:
* Build and test spacecraft harnesses, including ground test cables
* Ensure harnesses meet IPC-WHMA-620E standards
* Verify power, signal, and data bus pin-to-pin alignment
* Implement harness designs to meet electrical, grounding, and environmental specs
* Collaborate with the spacecraft systems team to resolve issues
* Participate in harness routing discussions
* Manage configuration control of hardware
