Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Temporary Works Co-ordinator to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our new site in Redcar and Cleveland. What you'll be doing The successful candidate will have the following accountabilities: Coordinate with all parties involved in the design and construction of temporary works; Liaise with clients to determine if schemes may affect the public and to ascertain approval process and certification required; Compile and periodically update a Temporary Works Schedule (TWS) with all relevant information and to periodically review the schedule with the Temporary Works Designer (TWD) and Project Lead; Ensure that an adequate Temporary Works design is carried out; Supervise and assess the competence of the TWS with the Project Lead; Prepare/review the design brief for adequacy/completeness prior to issue to TWD; Ensure that the duration for temporary works designs, checking and construction are realistically timed in the construction programme; Ensure that the completed designs are obtained from the TWD within the required deadline; Discuss any changes to the design with the TWD and manage the design change process. Who we're looking for We’re looking for an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to support safe and efficient delivery at Net Zero Teesside. You’ll bring strong knowledge of temporary works processes and UK construction standards, and the confidence to coordinate design briefs, checks and approvals in line with the Temporary Works Procedure. You’ll be organised and proactive, able to plan and manage the temporary works register, ensure inspections and handovers are completed, and maintain clear, auditable records. A formal qualification is desirable (e.g., degree or HNC), alongside relevant site experience, and experience working on a project of similar complexity and nature to Net Zero Teesside is highly desirable. With a collaborative, safety-first mindset, you’ll communicate effectively with designers, site teams, contractors and the Temporary Works Designated Individual to identify risk, resolve issues quickly and keep works progressing to programme—without compromising on quality or compliance.
