There's a lot of different touchpoints for a store manager during day to day life. Whether it be catching up with my direct reports or the store team, delivering news and updates and making sure everything’s OK. Our people really shine, they're passionate, they're caring, they're curious, they want to do a brilliant job.
Ben, Showroom Manager
A day's work for me is coming into the store having a good plan. The team will be happy and ready to help our customers. I love having a busy shop floor, booking loads of customers in for their dream kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. I'm there to support my team if they need any help on the design system and on customer projects.
I make sure we comply legally and in a safe way as a store, and I empower my team to deliver stock management routines. It’s all about giving our trade customers a great experience and great advice, showing them the right products to build, create and improve their clients' homes.
Our Retail Management teams are the ones who help every one of our stores to lead and develop their teams so they can always put our customers first. Working together to keep ahead of this fast‑moving sector, this curious bunch are full of ideas on how we can build an even better B&Q.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Experience in retail management, preferably in a hardware or large catalogue environment. • Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills. • Ability to drive sales and manage a team across multiple departments. • Proficiency with sales and stock management systems. • Commitment to B&Q’s values and customer focus.
