Are you an experienced Construction Project Manager looking for a rewarding role with a genuine specialist?
Want to lead high-value, critical projects within the thriving healthcare sector?
The Company:
We are representing a highly respected and growing specialist contractor renowned for delivering complex and high-quality construction and refurbishment projects within the medical and healthcare sectors. With a strong track record spanning over 15 years, they are a trusted partner for both public (NHS) and private healthcare institutions across the UK. This is a company that prides itself on its expertise, quality of service, and its commitment to delivering state-of-the-art facilities that make a real difference. They offer a full turnkey service, from design and build through to installation and completion, particularly in specialist areas involving medical imaging and critical care facilities.
The Opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Project Manager to join a dynamic team, taking the lead on a variety of specialist healthcare construction projects. You will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to handover, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Given the niche sector, you will work closely with major equipment manufacturers and specialist supply chains.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the full project lifecycle, from initial client briefing and design input through to procurement, site operations, and successful handover.
* Oversee projects involving the installation of specialist medical equipment, operating theatre refurbishments, and general healthcare facility fit-outs.
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
* Lead and motivate project teams, including site managers, direct labour, and subcontractors.
* Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly within live healthcare environments.
* Liaise effectively with clients (including NHS Trusts and private healthcare providers), consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
* Manage project risk, P&L, and ensure robust commercial control.
* Provide regular progress reports to senior management.
About You:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager within the UK construction industry.
* A strong background in managing refurbishment, fit-out, or new build projects, ideally within the healthcare, laboratory, or other technically complex sectors.
* Experience with projects involving M&E services and specialist equipment installations would be highly advantageous.
* Excellent understanding of construction contracts, programming, and commercial management.
* Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects or a single large-scale project effectively.
* A relevant construction qualification (e.g., Degree in Construction Management, CIOB, or equivalent).
* Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
* Full UK driving licence.
What’s on Offer:
* A competitive basic salary of up to £65,000 per annum.
* A generous car package of £4,000.
* A comprehensive benefits package.
* The chance to work on unique and rewarding projects that have a significant positive impact.
* Career development opportunities within a growing, specialist organisation.
* A supportive and expert team environment.
