Overview

Role: Team Leader / Compliance Tester Lead (4 on 4 off shift pattern, across Blue or Yellow shift, 8am – 7pm). Onsite at Liverpool Hall Street Office. The PlayStation brand is part of Sony Interactive Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation. This role involves ensuring that all products are tested thoroughly against relevant TRC reference material and that the department functions as a professional, efficient team.


What you’ll be doing

* Maintain an in-depth and up-to-date TRC knowledge using TRC/Test case documentation and supplementary information.
* Answer TRC questions directly or indirectly with a full understanding of both the question and answer.
* Support and assist in cross-training of staff when necessary.
* Proactively investigate new TRC situations/problems encountered by Compliance testers and share findings with other Compliance Team Leaders and the Compliance Supervisor.
* Discuss theories and opinions on new TRC guidelines/TRC Test cases/Testing procedures constructively.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SIE Naming Conventions, brand guidelines, PEGI ratings, and SIE specifications and procedures.
* Liaise with Supervisors/Managers for additional processes when required (e.g., patch deployments/VITA game package installation).
* Collaborate with other Compliance Team Leaders to improve the department in all areas.
* Lead testing of a title.
* Assign tasks to testers, track progress, and reassign testers to new tasks promptly upon completion (e.g., new title, cross-training).
* Accurately report test hours per title and query any excess hours with testers.
* Source and distribute peripherals and materials needed for testing.
* Create accurate and clear handover documents and provide testers with all materials needed to perform their role.
* Maintain bug reports and ensure all information entered into the database is accurate with correct classification, frequency, and area.
* Set bugs to PR status and respond promptly to queries from Supervisors/Managers regarding bug reports.
* Ensure all SKUs of the title have had relevant bugs copied into them and monitor cross-territory bug reports as needed.
* Educate testers when encountering poorly written bugs.
* Log discs in and out of the disc room and maintain a comfortable and safe working environment.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment; avert potential conflicts by fair and diplomatic means; monitor staff interactions to ensure non-disruptive behavior.
* Assist the direct line manager in investigating disciplinary issues and report misuse of company property as required.
* Comply with department security policy and ensure staff follow suite; ensure staff follow Compliance testing and office procedures and notify testers of changes.
* Liaise with counterparts on the opposite shift and positively develop/enhance relationships.
* Perform Return to Work meetings for staff returning from illness and carry out Quarterly Reviews with your direct test team.
* Performance manage the direct test team and complete the staff performance tracker per shift, highlighting under-performers and taking appropriate action.
* Ensure SHIP is used and followed; manage equipment sign-in/out and maintain accurate records of machines on soak each night.
* Adhere to all policies including Best Practice guide, Bugs policy, and VRC bugs verification; ensure MDT updates are fed back to Supervisors for changes.
* Manage other teams/colleagues in the absence of a Team Leader.


What we are looking for


Leadership/Managerial Experience

* You have led teams in a managerial or supervisory setting (e.g., setting goals, team member reviews, employee relations matters).


Technical Ability

* Understanding gaming consoles is an advantage but not vital; a technical and curious attitude with training and development available.
* Understanding of PC/Laptop usage – MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).


Communication/Collaboration
