R&D Engineer / Physicist (Laser processing) Oxfordshire

A fantastic opportunity for an Applied Laser / Photonics / Optical Physicist graduate or Research Engineer has arisen at an Oxfordshire based leading R&D company whose innovative laser micromachining technology is internationally recognised as a market leader.
This role is open to a recent Physicist / Lasers / Optics / Photonics graduate who enjoys hands-on engineering work with lasers / photonics / optical systems, and is looking for an opportunity to learn and grow their career in Laser application engineering, or an R&D Engineer with a background in micromachining / laser processing looking for a new challenge.
You will join a world class team working with state-of-the-art laser systems providing bespoke laser micromachining services and solutions for clients world-wide.

Responsibilities
* Apply laser processing and photonics knowledge to laser micromachining projects and client requirements.
* Work with state-of-the-art laser systems to support bespoke micromachining services and solutions.
* Collaborate within a world-class team to advance R&D in laser applications and optical systems.
* Contribute to the development and optimization of laser processing workflows.
Qualifications
* BSc degree or higher in Lasers, Photonics, Optical Engineering, Physics, Engineering or similar qualification plus equivalent practical experience. (A Laser related postgrad qualification would be a distinct advantage)
* Practical and hands-on experience with laser applications development
* Experience with high-speed, high power laser processing beneficial
Knowledge (beneficial)
* Optical systems
* Ray tracing analysis (ZEMAX or equivalent)
* Alignment, machine vision for OEM integration
* Precision laser micromachining
